TRNC Minister of Education Dr. Mustafa Arabacıoğlu in EMU

Within the framework of the “Kitchen and Service” phase of the ‘Information-Talent Competition’ amongst TRNC vocational high schools, “TRNC Minister of Education Dr. Mustafa Arabacıoğlu paid a visit to Eastern Mediterranean University on 15 April 2014. During his visit to Eastern Mediterranean University as the hosting institution of the “Kitchen and Service” phase of the competition which was participated by groups from Karpaz Kumyalı Vocational High School, Haydarpaşa Commerce High School, Famagusta Commerce School, and Güzelyurt Vocational High School, Minister Dr. Mustafa Arabacıoğlu visited EMU Tourism Faculty and received information about the contest. Dr. Arabacıoğlu stated that the competition is a source of motivation for students as they are provided with the chance of putting theory into practice. Dr. Arabacıoğlu thanked EMU Tourism Faculty for for offering their resources for the aforementioned competition. 

Following the competition, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Abdullah Y. Öztoprak, EMU Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Altınay, Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç and Public Relations and Press Office Director Derviş Ekşici had lunch with the minister at Tower Restorant. Following lunch, minister Dr. Mustafa Arabacıoğlu visited EMU Rector in his office and exchanged information on the higher education policies in the TRNC. Stating the importance of EMU within TRNC, Minister Dr. Arabacıoğlu assured that their ministry will always provide full support for EMU.

After the minister, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Öztoprak provided information on the latest academic developments, new programs, accreditations and infrastructural work on EMU campus.
