Another Successful Achievement from EMU Tourism Faculty Member

Eastern Mediterranean University Tourism Faculty academic staff member Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe was placed within the first 22 academicians in the rankings of the "Second Generation Academicians". With Prof. Dr. Karatepe, A. Zopiatis, A.L. Theocharous and P. Constanti's article published in Scientometrics journal in 2014, Karatepe has successfully taken his place within the first 22 academicians in the rankings of the second generation academicians.

Tourism Faculty Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç stated that Prof. Dr. Karatepe's remarkable achievement is a source of pride for Eastern Mediterranean University as well as other universities within the TRNC and the Republic of Turkey. Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç added that Eastern Mediterranean University Tourism Faculty has become the flagship in tourism and hospitality education with its well-educated and skilled graduates as well as postgraduate programs and national and international publications.

Prof. Dr. Kılıç added that Prof. Dr. Karatepe is a shining star in the international academic world and has become a model of perfection for other academicians.

Prof. Dr. Karatepe was ranked 18th within 50 academics throughout the world and 2nd within Europe with his articles on marketing and human resources management published in K. Park, W.J. Phillips, D.D. Canter and J. Abbot's Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research in 2011.

In 2012, Prof. Dr. Karatepe was ranked 2nd within Europe and 11th throughout the world with his articles published in K.A. Way, R.J. Harrington and M.C. Ottenbacher's Journal of Culinary Science and Technology.
