EMU Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department Discussed in "The Notebook of Tourism" Program

Taking place under the moderatorship of Eastern Mediterranean University Tourism Faculty Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, this week's TV program entitled "The Notebook of Tourism" hosted EMU Tourism Faculty academic staff member Assist. Prof. Dr. Güven Ardahan who provided information about "EMU Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department".

The program started with EMU Tourism Faculty Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç who provided information about the faculty. Prof. Dr. Kılıç stated that Tourism and Hospitality Management Department which started its educational activities in 1990 now provides education for over 600 students. After Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, Assist. Prof. Dr. Güven Ardahan gave information about the associate, undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Tourism Faculty. Referring to EMU Tourism Faculty as the best faculty within Europe in the tourism and hospitality field, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ardahan also put forth that the faculty has been ranked within the top 20 throughout the world and endeavors to take its place within top 10. Assist. Prof. Dr. Ardahan also added that there is a remarkable interest towards Culinary Arts Associate Program as its graduates pursue job opportunities at large hotel chains or famous restaurants.

Assist Prof. Dr. Ardahan also provided information on the new "Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department" which will accept registrations for the 2014-2015 Academic Year. The prospective 4-year undergraduate program will be the follow up of the "Culinary Arts" Associate Degree program. Assist. Prof. Dr. Ardahan also gave detailed information about the curriculum of the prospective program.
