Organised as part of the operations of Eastern Mediterranean University Tourism Faculty, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, a series of culinary workshops targeted towards amateur chefs were successfully completed. 91 participants who took part in the said courses received their certificates at a ceremony which took place at EMU Tower Restaurant.
In her address during the ceremony, Chair of EMU Continuing Education Center Prof. Dr. Uğur Ulaş Dağlı stated that the university's mission, along with education, is increasing its involvement in social responsibilities. Prof. Dr. Uğur Ulaş Dağlı added that in this respect, EMU Continuing Education Center provides long and short term courses, seminars, conferences and workshops in an array of topics.
EMU Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç stated that delivered by chefs with international certification, the culinary workshops took place under different concepts including Italian Cuisine, Cupcakes for Mothers and Daughters, American-Texas Cuisine, Latin Cuisine, Indian Cuisine, French Cuisine, Black Sea Region Cuisine, Chinese Cuisine, and Spanish Cuisine – Tapas.
Prof. Dr. Kılıç added that further courses will be organised in November by EMU Tourism Faculty in collaboration with EMU Continuing Education Center. The upcoming workshops will take place at demo kitchens of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department under the sponsorship of Edip Electronic. Prof. Dr. Kılıç added that this year's courses will be enriched with different practices.
